Yasemin Yardimci received her B.Sc and M.Sc degrees from Bogazici University, Department of Electrical Engineering. She received her PhD from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, Tennessee, U.S.A. She taught part-time at Istanbul University, Bilkent University and METU and also worked as a consultant for the Government. She was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Minnesota in 1996. She is presently an associate professor at the Informatics Institute, Modelling and Simulation Program.

Her current research interests include Target Detection, Selection and Tracking, Sensor Fusion, Image Registration, DNA Microarray Image Analysis, Visualization and Computer Graphics,
Human Computer Interaction and Decision Analysis Techniques. She worked in different fields of Signal and Image Processing and taught various level Signal, Image Processing and Computer Graphics Courses as well as courses on Stochastic Processes and Detection and Estimation.

Yasemin Yardimci is the Present Chair of the IEEE Signal Processing Society Chapter and the Past Chair of IEEE Aerospace and Electronic Systems Society Chapter of Turkey.

She is married to Enis and has a son Sinan.
